ServaVid is a free, browser-based Snapchat downloader. It reads public Snapchat pages — a public profile, a public story, a highlight collection or a Spotlight link — and lets you save the media that Snapchat already serves to the web. There is no account, no app and no library of downloaded videos on our side.
Why we built it
Public Snapchat pages are easy to view but awkward to archive. People often want to keep their own memories, save a clip they are mentioned in, or collect references for research and commentary. ServaVid makes that process simple: paste a link, preview the available clips, and download the file. The tool is intentionally narrow. It does not access private accounts, messages, chats or saved memories, and it does not bypass Snapchat's privacy controls.
How it works
- You paste a public Snapchat URL or username.
- Our server reads the public page and extracts the media links that Snapchat exposes.
- You choose a clip; the file is streamed from Snapchat's CDN to your device.
- Nothing is stored after the request. There is no download history.
For more detail, see the guides or the technical notes in the project README.
What we believe
- Public means public — and private means private. We do not try to get around privacy settings.
- Your files are yours. We do not keep a copy of the videos you download.
- Credit matters. Do not remove creator attribution or pass someone else's work off as your own.
- No dark patterns. No forced sign-up, no hidden subscription, no fake download buttons.
What we are not
ServaVid is not affiliated with Snap Inc. or Snapchat. Snapchat and the Snapchat ghost logo are trademarks of Snap Inc. We cannot help with Snapchat account recovery, billing, password resets or private content. For those issues, contact Snapchat support directly.
Some public Spotlight renditions include a Snapchat watermark embedded in the file. ServaVid does not add or remove that watermark; the file you receive is the version Snapchat serves publicly. If you need a clean copy of your own video, use your original export.
