This Privacy Policy explains how ServaVid (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use this website and its Snapchat downloader tool (the “Service”). We designed ServaVid to work without accounts, without storing downloaded videos, and without unnecessary tracking. Please read this policy together with our Terms of Service & Disclaimer.
1. Who we are
ServaVid is an independent website that helps users download media from public Snapchat pages, such as public profiles, stories, highlights and Spotlight links. ServaVid is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. or Snapchat. References to Snapchat are for identification only.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
ServaVid does not require registration. The only information you type is the public Snapchat URL or username you choose to submit. We do not ask for your Snapchat password, email address, phone number or payment details.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message so we can reply.
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit. The message is stored in a private server-side file so it can be reviewed and answered; it is not used for marketing, sold or shared with advertisers.
2.2 Technical and security data
When you use the Service, our server may automatically process:
- your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention);
- browser type, user agent and language preferences;
- the page or API request you made and its timestamp;
- response status and basic diagnostic information.
These logs are used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service. They are not used to build advertising profiles, and we do not combine them with data from other websites.
2.3 Downloaded media
When you request a download, the file is streamed from Snapchat's content delivery network through our server to your device. We do not store the downloaded video or image files. We do not keep a library of what you download. Snapchat and its CDN providers may receive technical request data according to their own privacy policies.
2.4 Cookies and local storage
ServaVid uses an essential preference cookie named servavid_lang and the browser's localStorage to remember the language you selected (Arabic, Hindi or English). This lets the homepage respect your choice instead of redirecting you on every visit. The cookie lasts up to one year and is not used for advertising.
You can delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. If you block them, the Service will still work, but the homepage may use your browser language or region instead of your saved preference.
3. Third-party services
3.1 Snapchat
The Service reads publicly available Snapchat pages and retrieves public media from Snapchat's servers. Your request to Snapchat is subject to Snapchat's own terms and privacy policy. We do not control Snapchat's data practices.
3.2 Google Fonts
We load fonts from Google Fonts to display the site correctly. When your browser requests those fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information. You can block third-party fonts in your browser if you prefer.
3.3 Google AdSense and advertising
ServaVid may display advertising through Google AdSense or other third-party advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
Where required by law, we will ask for consent before setting non-essential advertising cookies. Advertising partners may process data outside your country; they are responsible for their own compliance and privacy notices.
3.4 Analytics
ServaVid does not currently use Google Analytics or similar behavioral analytics. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent first.
4. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: operating the Service, preventing abuse, rate limiting and maintaining security.
- Consent: non-essential cookies and personalized advertising, where required.
- Legal obligation: responding to lawful requests or protecting legal rights.
5. Data retention
We keep security logs only for as long as needed to operate and protect the Service, then delete or anonymize them. Language preferences remain in your browser until you clear them or they expire. Contact emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Downloaded media is not retained at all.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email contact@servavid.com. We may need to verify your request. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
7. Children
ServaVid is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our service providers (for example, hosting, fonts and advertising partners) may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards used.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical measures, including HTTPS in production, signed download links, rate limiting and restricted upstream hosts, to protect the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements or advertising partners. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the policy was revised. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
