Downloading a Snapchat clip does not require an app or an account. All you need is a public link, a browser, and this page. The walkthrough covers stories, highlights, profiles and Spotlight, then explains audio, quality, and saving files on iPhone, Android and desktop.
The same flow works on mobile and desktop. The only differences are where the share button lives and where your browser saves the file. If this is your first time using ServaVid, follow the six steps below, then check the troubleshooting section if a clip does not appear.
What you need
- A public profile, active story, highlight or Spotlight link.
- A modern browser such as Chrome, Safari or Edge.
- Enough free space for an MP4 video or a JPG image.
Six steps from link to file
Open the public page
Open the creator profile or Spotlight link in your browser or in Snapchat. Make sure the account is public and the story is still active.
Copy the link
In the app, tap Share and choose Copy Link. On the web, copy the full address from the browser bar. A direct public CDN media link also works.
Paste it into ServaVid
Return to the home page, paste the link into the search field, and press Download. The tool resolves the public page and lists the available media.
Pick the exact clip
Story, Highlights and Spotlight tabs appear when available. Tap a card to preview it, then choose the clip you actually want.
Download the MP4 with audio
Press Download on the card or inside the preview. Video is saved as MP4 and images as JPG, with the audio track present in the source file.
Save and organise it
On iPhone the file lands in Files → Downloads. On Android it goes to Downloads. Move it to Photos or a dedicated folder before you share or edit it.
Which links work?
- Public profile:
snapchat.com/@username— shows the current story and available highlights. - Story: public content posted in roughly the last 24 hours.
- Highlight: a collection the creator pinned to their profile.
- Spotlight: a public clip link such as
snapchat.com/spotlight/.... - Direct media link: a public file URL served by Snapchat's CDN.
On iPhone and Android
iPhone and iPad
Open the page in Safari, paste the link, and download. After the download finishes, open Files → Downloads. If the download button does nothing, allow downloads for Safari in Settings.
Android
Use Chrome, download the file, and open it from Downloads or the download notification. You can then move it to Photos or share it directly with an editing app.
If a link does not work
The story expired or the profile is private
ServaVid does not bypass privacy controls. A story older than about 24 hours, or content on a private account, will not appear. Try a highlight or a different public link.
The page loads but no clips appear
The creator may have deleted the content or changed their settings. Copy the link again from the app and open it in a browser first to confirm it is still public.
Signature or expiry error
Download links are short-lived for security. Reload the page and resolve the link again; do not reuse an old download URL.
There is no audio
The source file may be silent, especially some photos and Spotlight clips. The tool does not invent an audio track that Snapchat did not provide.
